2016 Wildlife Photo Contest

Cheetah, Namiri Plains, Serengeti National Park, Tanzania
Cheetah

Species: Cheetah | Location: Namiri Plains, Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

I'm cold, I'm wet and I'm hungry! We were lucky enough to come across the cheetahs shortly before sunset on a drive that started out in the rain but turned sunny, giving the cats a chance to dry out. It gave us a chance to spend some time with them and take advantage of the wonderful light with the added bonus of having the storm clouds in the background. This fella was up on a small ridge giving us an eye-level visit. despite the scowl, he didn't seem bothered by our presence or the sound of shutters. As with all cat encounters, it was over too soon.
