2016 Wildlife Photo Contest

Elephants, Chobe National Park, Botswana
River Crossing

Species: Elephants | Location: Chobe National Park, Botswana

While visiting Chobe National Park in Botswana, we noticed a boat manned with tripods, camera's and long lenses. After meeting the owner, we signed up for a water safari with her and were able to get incredible pictures from the water that you can not get from land. We were floating in the middle of the river when this group of ellies started their crossing. I love how their skin and tusks are glistening and the sheer mass of the animals is kind of in your face even with only capturing their heads. It was an amazing experience.
