2016 Wildlife Photo Contest

Octopus, Pacific Northwest, United States
A Day in the Sun

Species: Octopus | Location: Pacific Northwest, United States

On the lowest tide of the year, we went down to the beach to enjoy the beautiful day. While passing under the ferry dock, I saw this little guy. As I found her (named Ursula after the Little Mermaid by some nearby children) in very shallow water, and the tide was still going out, I brought her to the remnants of a piling in deeper water where she happily made her home and ate fish.
