This photo was taken on a trip to Africa in the summer of 2015. It was mating season and the male and female lions were in pairs everywhere. All the activity of the mating season seemed to exhaust the adult lions. This male lion was sitting next to his mate and when he yawned I snapped the photo!
About The Photographer
I went on a trip to Africa last summer with my son. It was the most incredible journey I have ever taken. The animals were very cooperative when it came to photography, and our guide had an amazing eye for cats in trees! I am not a professional, but someone who has what I believe to be beautiful and soul moving pictures of African animals. It is hard to choose only three. Thank you.
