Red Fox, Unalaska, Alaska , United States
Summer Curiosity

Species: Red Fox | Location: Unalaska, Alaska , United States

Red foxes are one of the few land mammals that can be found in Unalaska Island, Alaska. During winter they can only be seen when nights are not windy and rainy, but when Summer starts, wildflowers blossom and there's sunlight until midnight, these curious animals can be seen everywhere in the island, fighting eagles for food, catching salmons on the rivers and streams, strolling among blueberry and salmonberry fields.

True to their curious nature, they don't run away from human presence, but are rather attracted to it, for which all Unalaska visitor must resist the urgency of treating them as pets, and always remember that they are wild foxes.
