Species: banded mongoose | Location: Okavango Delta, Botswana
We came across a family of banded mongooses on a game drive, and this one seemed to be glad to pose for his/her portrait.
About The Photographer
I have been an enthusiastic amateur photographer since age 11, when my father (also an enthusiastic amateur) got me my first camera. Recently I was able to exercise my enthusiasm on safari in Botswana, where the Okavango Delta is one of the richest places for wildlife, and wildlife photographers, on the African continent. My trusty old DSLR, a Canon EOS 30D, and favorite lens for wildlife, a Canon 100-300 mm zoom, both got terrific workouts. I also learned some wonderful tips there from a professional at one of our safari camps. Mostly I shoot landscapes, wildlife when the opportunity presents, and some arty stuff from time to time.
