Species: Impala | Location: Kafue National Park, Zambia
Near sunset on one of our drive safaris, we ran across these impalas who had just dropped their babies (only about 1 week old). The baby standing behind & to the left kept following this mother, but the mother wouldn't let it suckle. Evidently it belonged to a different mother. This photo also shows the black M (nicknamed "McDonald's") pattern on the rump of the adult impala in the background :-). We saw MANY impalas with babies on our safari drives!
