Green heron with a beak full

Walking around a small pond in Rockville MD, I was surprised to find this green heron out in the open. Usually they remain hidden in the bamboo that covers the hillside. I watched and photographed as it swallowed and threw up a large piece of fish. It finally got most of it eaten. This photograph shows it downing the last of its catch.
