Elephants hold a special place in my heart! It was more than I ever imagined when 'mom' brought her days old calf so close. I found it impossible not to feel a sense of awe, humility and reverence in their presence. Sadly, the future of thee majestic creatures is uncertain, poaching is rampant, and they have been placed on the endangered list. I cannot imagine a world without elephants and feel we would be irreparably barren without him. I am hopeful this baby will live a long full life.
