Species: Barred Owl | Location: James River Wetlands Trail , U.S.A.
I was with my wife at the James River Wetlands trail recently. looking for some Owls and their babies I knew were there somewhere. We had given up and then we heard the adults calling each other. We followed the sound, but couldn't find them. We walked a little farther, heard a chorus of cardinals chirping and stopped in our tracks, then we saw an adult Owl fly in front of us, we knew they were there somewhere and then we saw another Owl. Then the babies. I had photographed this owl about 30 times with direct lighting. My wife said do you want to take another angle? I agreed that it was time to try another angle. I only got about 3 clicks from this angle, and then this one flew. I had to guess on my manual settings, but I seem to have captured what I saw with my un-aided my eye.
