Leopard, Kruger National Park, South Africa
Last Minute Leopard

Species: Leopard | Location: Kruger National Park, South Africa

My husband and I spent seven days driving around Kruger looking for the Big 5, and had seen multiple elephants, rhinos, buffalo, and lions, but no leopards. On our way out of the park my husband pulled over to watch one last group of elephants. I looked out my window to see this leopard lying under a tree not 50 feet away from us, and not another car in sight. We sat and watched him for at least three hours as he made multiple (but futile) attempts on passing impalas, and would've stayed all night if we didn't have to return our rental. Truly, there are no words to describe the beauty of a leopard in the wild.
