Species: Jackrabbit | Location: Joshua Tree Naitional Park, United States
It was very early in the morning and I wanted to take a few moody landscape shots of Joshua Tree Park before it'd rained on me. I accidentally happened upon two jackrabbits that were hopping around the desert bushes. I made eye contact with the smaller one and she took off so fast that all I could see was the dust trail. The bigger one on the other hand felt quite comfortable around me and stuck around. This guy went about his business while I photographed him... from the allowed 8-10 feet distance. I spent about 10 minutes with this animal and this is one of my favorites from 'our shoot.' Having a wild animal's trust is such a wonderful feeling and I'm glad I have a few photos from this experience.
