Great Egret, Blackwater Refuge in Cambridge, Maryland on the Eastern Shore, United States
Egret at Blackwater Refuge

Species: Great Egret | Location: Blackwater Refuge in Cambridge, Maryland on the Eastern Shore, United States

This Great Egret was totally unaware of me ... or perhaps it just didn't care that I was there. I have tons of pictures of them on the water and in the marshes, but this is the only one I have been able to take while it was stretching its neck out in a tree! I love the blue sky as a background!

About The Photographer

I'm an amateur photographer but have been photographing the wildlife here on the Eastern Shore of Maryland for years. My husband and I often go out to Blackwater Refuge, Elliott Island, Hooper's Island, Assateague National Park and Chincoteague National Park, all located on the Eastern Shore. We love the fact that we stumble upon great photo ops of animals and birds. We never know what any given day will offer!
