Orangutan, Camp Leakey, Indonesia
Mother and Babe

Species: Orangutan | Location: Camp Leakey, Indonesia

As many of these Orangutans have been rehabilitated and released back into the wild, they're quite used to humans. This mother and babe came out of the bushes and wasn't intimidated at all. What wondrous creatures. Just a look into an Orangutans eyes leaves no doubt of their intelligence. My encounters with them changed my life and showed me what money and greed are doing to our planet. These beautiful animals are being displaced by Palm oil plantations. Palm oil is in many products we use. Needless to say, I'll be checking labels a lot more closely.
