Species: Yellow Weaver | Location: Kwazulu Natal, St. Lucia, South Africa
While volunteering in South Africa, I took one of my weekends to explore St. Lucia.
This male Yellow Weaver just completed the nest where he sits. He waits for his mate to approve the nest, if she does not, he must build a new nest. It is not uncommon for these male birds to have to construct several nests before their mate is satisfied. I very much like this picture because of the Yellow Weaver's red eyes and beautiful vivid yellow feathers.
