Blue Footed Booby, Urbina Bay, Isabela Island, Galapagos, Ecuador
Up, up, up, and away

Species: Blue Footed Booby | Location: Urbina Bay, Isabela Island, Galapagos, Ecuador

On this morning on our Natural Habitat tour in the Galapagos as we were getting ready to hike on the island a feeding frenzy started in the bay we were heading toward as a result of a large school of anchovy being trapped in that bay. Blue Footed booby's, penguins, other birds, and large fish were all feeding like crazy. We were able to approach the action in the pangas and I was able to get some great photos. My favorite is this one of a Blue Footed booby taking off after diving for the anchovy's. Before the feeding frenzy ended we were able to snorkel while the frenzy was going on. It was one for the most incredible experiences I have had.
