Species: Giraffes | Location: Makgadikgadi National Park, Botswana, Botswana
The first day I arrived at the Leroo La Tau camp in the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans in Botswana, I was resting on the deck in the heat of the afternoon. As I looked across the Boteti River, I could see herds of elephant and zebra drinking and cooling themselves with the water. Then I spied to young giraffes come out of the bush, bend down and begin to drink. I got several photos of them and of their mother who eventually came to drink also.
About The Photographer
I am a self-taught photographer who has been taking pictures since my teen years. I've always loved capturing the dimensions of a scene and especially conveying the emotion of what I am seeing! This is never more true than when I am shooting wildlife and nature subjects. My paying work is as a Public Health Educator, but when I retire I would like to devote more time to my passion of photography. Since I went to Africa a couple of years ago, the time and quality of my photography adventures has increased.
