Japanese Crane and White-tailed Sea Eagle, Kushiro, Hokkaido, Japan
Get Off My Territory

Species: Japanese Crane and White-tailed Sea Eagle | Location: Kushiro, Hokkaido, Japan

I was visiting Japan and our group visited the International Crane Center. Because the snow was not very deep, the cranes were foraging in the fields outside the crane center. We stopped to view them and I spotted an eagle sitting on the snow. I focused on the eagle, hoping it would take off. Suddenly a crane started walking toward the eagle and squawking. It jumped at the eagle to chase it away and I was able to capture several shots of the crane chasing the eagle.

About The Photographer

Cropped marianbrazilsm

I'm a world traveler who has been traveling the globe for the past 15 years, visiting places that are being most impacted by global warming. My initial photography interest was in macros of plants and flowers, but once I obtained a longer lens, I became an avid wildlife photographer. I enjoy visiting off-the-beaten-path places and capturing images of the flora and fauna. I also enjoy sharing these images and experiences with others through my web site and personal presentations.
