Golden Mantled Tamarin, Amazon Napo Wildlife Center, Ecuador
Breakfast for the Golden Mantled Tamarin

Species: Golden Mantled Tamarin | Location: Amazon Napo Wildlife Center, Ecuador

On the first day of my Amazon Extension we were getting prepared for our initial adventure into the rainforest. At the edge of the lodge property was a group of tamarin's looking to eat the one ripe fruit. We watched about 30 tamarins take turns to devour this fruit. The photo is of the first to dive into the fruit and with fruit all over it's face, he let me take his portrait (complete with his tongue sticking out).
