Bull Moose Shedding Velvet on Antlers

This photo was taken while my wife and I were hiking the East Inlet trail outside of the Rocky Mountain National Park and Grand Lake Colorado. I positioned myself behind a large lodge pole pine as this bull moose moved out from the trees in the background. Before he moved out from those trees my wife and I watched him for 30 minutes shed the velvet off his antlers by rubbing against some pine and aspen tree trunks.
