Bird of Prey, Skagit Valley, Skagit River, washington
Coming of Age

Species: Bird of Prey | Location: Skagit Valley, Skagit River, washington

Each winter there is a large gathering of bald eagles on and around the Skagit River in northern Washington. My first love in photography is taking photos of the bald eagles and living in this state affords me plenty of opportunity. This year i was very fortunate to spend New Years day on a river trip with friends to see and photograph the eagles. This beautiful eagle was turning from an immature into a mature bald eagle and had just a few brown young feathers left on his head .. finally coming of age.

About The Photographer

I am English of origin but am happily living in the beautiful NW of the USA. Both countries hold so many treasures from the rolling hills of England and the miles of beautiful coastline to the dramatic and varied landscapes here in the USA. I am an RN who loves to spend my free time out and about taking photos and enjoying this wonderful land and the wildlife it holds.
