Leopard snarls a warning to lurking hyenas

Species: Leopard | Location: Maasai Mmara National Reserve, Kenya

This leopard was protecting it's kill from a small pack of hyenas that were lurking in the shadows below the tree. The Topi antelope had been dragged up the tree and lodged in the branches for security.

I have been an amateur photographer for most of my 76 years. In the last ten years I have focused on wildlife photography in Canada as well as Ecuador, Iceland, Kenya and South Africa. I am currently using two Olympus EM1 Mk II cameras.
