Plumed Basilisk (Basiliscus plumifrons), La Selva Biological Station, Costa Rica
The Grumpy Dragon

Species: Plumed Basilisk (Basiliscus plumifrons) | Location: La Selva Biological Station, Costa Rica

The plumed basilisk is known for its ability to run across the surface of water, so needless to say, these lizards are quick. I was lucky enough to happen across this one, who was basking in a sunfleck in the jungle. Although he was nice enough to let me approach, he looked less than pleased at having his portrait taken.
