2016 Wildlife Photo Contest

African Lion, Okavango Delta, Botswana
This is my home!

Species: African Lion | Location: Okavango Delta, Botswana

The African Lion was number 1 on my list to see. We were so fortunate while at the Chitabe Camp to get our wish. We had many photo oportunities with Lion prides, female, and male lions The greatest of all for us was the male lion. This is a magnificent creature and we are indeed in his land! This picture captures the majestic creature as it should always be remembered.

About The Photographer

On our recent trip to Botswana in December of 2015 I had a chance to take many pictures during our 2 week stay on safari. It was an amazing trip and since I am an amateur photographer I hoped to get just a few really good shots. The animals were stunning and my pictures turned out so much better then I could have hoped for. With the help of my daughter I took these pictures and created a photo book to show the journey of the trip and have received many positive comments and questions about the animals and how real they look. I truly am an amateur but learned that capturing pictures at just the right moment is a joy and and a challenge which I plan to continue.
