Species: Chinstrap Penguin | Location: Paradise Island, Antarctica
We were on Paradise Island (in Antarctica) surrounded by many hundreds of nesting chinstrap penguins. The naturalist advised us that the parents are indistinguishable by humans and the parents take turns incubating the eggs while the partner gathers food in the ocean. The nests are composed of rocks, and we witnessed many penguins stealing rocks from other penguins' nests when they were left unattended.
