Sand Tiger Shark (Carcharias taurus), North Carolina, United States
Taking Center Stage

Species: Sand Tiger Shark (Carcharias taurus) | Location: North Carolina, United States

A sand tiger shark is surrounded by spade fish and bait fish in the water off of North Carolina. Although sand tiger sharks look menacing with their rows of pointed teeth, they are actually quite docile, and are easily approached by divers.
