Species: Mountain Goat | Location: Mount Evans, Colorado, United States
I was near the summit of Mount Evans in Colorado early on a day in July and saw a group of 2-3 mountain goats and 2 kids. They were happily eating Alpine Avens, which are small yellow flowers often found above treeline in the Rocky Mountains. The kid pictured was full of energy and ran around in between bites of the flowers. If you look closely at the photo, you'll see a little Alpine Aven sticking out of the side of his mouth.
