Species: Chacma Baboon | Location: Savuti, Botswana
During an early morning game drive, we headed out in the direction of a known leopard kill sighting. On the way, we were interrupted by an active troop of baboons swinging around in the trees above us. There were a number of young male baboons chasing each other wildly through the canopy, which was fine until one clattered into a larger adult male who was not amused by the morning horseplay. The young baboons rapidly swung down the branches of this tree as the annoyed larger male pursued. There was one problem... they chose a branch that left them dangling further above ground than they seemed comfortable with. Unfortunately, the baboons above couldn't stop and one by one they knocked each other free, dropping to the ground meters from our truck.
