Blondes don't always have more fun

Male lions are noted for their manes which range in color from blonde and red to shades of brown and black. Interestingly enough, lionesses actually prefer the darker manes, and maybe that's why this lion seems so lonely. Just goes to show that blondes don't always have more fun.

Marcos Rocano is a photographer and paramedic based in Iquitos, Peru. As a paramedic on the expeditionary cruise ship Zafiro, his responsibilities include accompanying guests on all boat and land excursions on the Peruvian Amazon. His passion is photographing and documenting wildlife of the Amazon.
