Species: E. Raccoon (Procyon lotor) | Location: Doylestown, Pennsylvania, United States
Hiking around the woods of my college campus looking for native Pennsylvania birds on abnormally warm winter day, I stopped an old oak tree and was so busy looking up that I didn't immediately notice this juvenile raccoon untying my shoe and yanking at the tongue from inside its hollow at the tree's base. After we spooked each other I stepped away to a fallen log that was my impromptu tripod, about eight feet from its hollow taking a series of at least 50 shots of it moving around the hollow before it finally gave me this and several more poses that I still have of it today
About The Photographer
I am an adventure-seeker, nature lover, and zookeeper by profession. I am surrounded by some of the world's most endangered and iconic wildlife that inspire me and my sense of adventure every single day. Photography to me is that one moment that can't be repeated or replaced, and it inspires me to travel the world and have moments in my life and photos that immortalize those experiences forever.
Zookeeping may be my profession and my passion, but photography is a way for me to show the beauty of our natural world and the creatures that we share this world with. My goal (professionally and artistically) is to bring the beauty and awe-inspiring presence of the world and its inhabitants to the forefront and inspire people to help preserve our world and our future.
