Almost Got You

Species: Crocodile, Wildebeest | Location: Mara River, Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kenya

The wildebeest was caught by the crocodile by the rear right heel for five to eight seconds before he pulled it out. So, everyone left the river relieved except the 17-foot crocodile.

About The Photographer

I am a long-time avid photographer. Recently I retired, and, with my wife, have bumped up the time spent with photography––particularly wildlife and birds. We have recently returned from an African photo adventure to Tanzania and Kenya with particular emphasis on “The Great Migration." In the U.S. we try to visit as many national wildlife refuges and national parks as we can to practice our skills.
