Hungry Baby Woodchucks

Species: woodchuck | Location: Maryland, USA

A female woodchuck made a burrow under our garage where she gave birth to 6 babies. Since the burrow entrance was right next to where we sat on the patio most evenings, the babies and mother quickly got used to us and we had a wonderful summer watching them grow up. The photo opportunities they provided proved one does not always have to travel to far away places to enjoy nature and its surprises.
