Easy Catch

Species: Brown Bear/Grizzly Bear and Sockeye Salmon | Location: Katmai Region, Alaska, USA

Grizzly bear at Brooks Falls, Alaska catching sockeye salmon on a gently rainy day. This sockeye made a great leap and would have cleared the falls, but unfortunately, it was directly into the mouth of a waiting grizzly who had to do nothing more than just open his mouth. This shot captured the very instant before his jaws closed on the five to eight pound salmon.
