We Three Kings

Species: King Penguins | Location: Fortuna Bay, South Georgia

This was our first landing in South Georgia at Fortuna Bay. The weather wasn't great. As soon as we landed, the wind picked up and a wet snow began. The King penguin colony was quite far from the landing site, so I stayed in the area and watched the Kings and the fur seals coming and going. I had a rain cover for the camera and lens, so was able to keep shooting for an hour before things started getting too wet. I saw these three penguins heading my way and waited until they were at a good distance and took the shot.

About The Photographer

I'm a world traveler who has been traveling the globe for the past 15 years, visiting places that are being most impacted by global warming. My initial photography interest was in macros of plants and flowers, but once I obtained a longer lens, I became an avid wildlife photographer. I enjoy visiting off-the-beaten-path places and capturing images of the flora and fauna. I also enjoy sharing these images and experiences with others through my web site and personal presentations.
