Break Neck Speed

Species: Southern giraffe | Location: Linyanti, Botswana

A pair of giraffes engaging in an epic neck battle... These two spent some time beating on each other. We did see a giraffe with a distinctive bend in its neck from just such a street fight. The fight for dominance and mating privileges is oft rife with pain and injury. In this case a pain in the neck. This photo was taken while on a trip to Botswana with Nat Hab.
