Snowy on the Rocks

Species: Snowy Owl | Location: Charleston Breachway, Rhode Island, United States

Starting out my morning in Charlestown, Rhode Island at the crack of dawn in -22 degree winter temperatures. I pulled into the parking lot near this beach and saw a snowy owl napping on a dune. It was too dark as the sun had not come up yet, but I kept quiet and out of sight in the corner of the lot. After sunrise she became active and flew back and forth across the channel, eventually perching on these rocks, giving me a perfect view from behind a dune!

About The Photographer

Cropped id photo

I started exploring photography when I was a graphic design student and fell in love immediately. My first passions for photography were nature and wildlife. I wanted to simply capture the natural world around me, just as nature intended it. I have since then started to photograph portraits and people, but my favorite thing to do is explore nature with my camera
