This herd of female gray seals had "hauled out" onto a sandbar at low tide to catch some rays. Several of the seals were vocalizing, but these two picked up their heads and seemed to share a joke with each other.

When she isn't amongst birds and butterflies, she teaches writing and literature at Springfield College, Boston campus and spends time with husband and two teenagers.
