A Great Blue Heron Take Off

Species: Great Blue Heron | Location: British Columbia, Canada

A great blue heron takes off in flight, water still dripping from its claws. I had been watching silently as the heron fished in the low tide pools in Comox, BC, Canada. The heron liked to move between different tide pools as the conditions changed. I found an appropriate vantage point between two tidal pools, and, luckily enough, this heron decided to take off right past me to try its luck at the other food source across the beach, giving me ample opportunity to capture a few frames.
