Day of the Polar Bear

Species: Polar Bear | Location: Churchill, Manitoba, Canada

It's International Polar Bear Day!  Each year this day helps to highlight the challenges facing polar bears and their habitats due to warming of the Arctic.  As polar bears are an umbrella species, their survival is vital to their entire ecosystem.  If the polar bear is doing well, other species, from birds to hares, will benefit.

Visiting the polar bears of Churchill is a great way to feel a connection to the King of the Arctic, and become inspired to get involved in their conservation.
